I am from San Antonio, Texas and am currently a junior at Loyola University Chicago where I am majoring in Criminal Justice and English with a minor in Spanish. I chose this area due to my dedication to social justice.
I am a mentor for the Loyola University Chicago Empowering Sisterhood women of color
association. Through this experience I have gotten the opportunity to uplift people in my
community as well as others, in addition to facilitating safe spaces on campus for the WOC
community here. One of the reasons I came to Chicago was to have an opportunity
to be involved in a hub of new experiences and people. I’m excited to be
a part of Simmon’s Center for Global Chicago and their mission to make change!
